If you have quartzite, you do not have quartz. And not all quartzite behaves the same. Dense crystalline varieties — Taj Mahal, Cristallo, Mont Blanc — are 7–8 on the Mohs scale, acid-safe, and naturally stain-resistant. Porous varieties — Azul Macaubas, Calacatta Macaubas, and many soft “Calacatta-look” quartzites — absorb water and oils within minutes; a water drop will darken the surface in 1–3 minutes if it’s unsealed.
Both get sealed with EnduraShield® — just on different timelines. Dense quartzite is a one-and-done: a single application typically lasts the life of the counter. Porous quartzite needs re-sealing every few years to stay protected.
Tannins absorb into unsealed quartzite and leave shadows that won’t wipe off.
Red wine, juice, and citrus penetrate the surface and leave shadows.
Olive oil, butter, and grease soak in and leave dark patches that won’t wipe off.
Mineral deposits from tap water build up and dull the surface over time.
High-use zones — sink runs, prep areas — dull faster without protection.
The cards above are what happens to porous quartzite without sealing. Dense quartzite is far more forgiving — but if you have a porous variety and it isn’t sealed properly, this is your reality. EnduraShield® closes the porosity and delivers years of stain resistance without changing the look or feel.
Sureshine has been sealing natural stone for over 30 years. We know the difference between dense Cristallo and porous Macaubas — and we apply EnduraShield® the right way for your variety: a one-and-done sealing on dense stone, or a regular reseal schedule on porous stone. It’s our top-shelf nano sealer, used on the most premium projects, and it’s not what most stone shops use.

Most off-the-shelf stone sealers last 6–12 months on quartzite — and then quietly stop working without telling you. Customers don’t notice until the first stain appears.
Endurashield® is built differently. It penetrates into the stone instead of coating the surface, doesn’t change appearance, and delivers long-lasting protection on quartzite with proper professional application.

Three engineering decisions that separate it from common sealers.
Bonds inside the stone matrix instead of sitting on top. The surface still feels and looks like natural stone.
Years of stain resistance, not months. Won’t quietly stop working between annual re-applications.
Doesn’t darken the stone, doesn’t add gloss, doesn’t yellow over time. Your quartzite looks exactly the same — just protected.

Taj Mahal, Cristallo, Mont Blanc, Super White, Fusion. Mohs 7–8, acid-safe, dense crystalline. We apply EnduraShield® once — and the protection typically lasts as long as you own the counter. No re-sealing schedule to remember.
Azul Macaubas, Calacatta Macaubas, Sea Pearl, many “Calacatta-look” quartzites. Water darkens in 1–3 minutes unsealed. EnduraShield® closes the porosity — and we’ll tell you when to plan the next reseal (usually every 1–3 years on porous varieties).

If you’re not sure what stone you actually have, this comparison usually clears it up. Quartzite is the one most people are surprised about.
Not sure which one you have — or which kind of quartzite? Send us a photo. We can usually identify the variety from the veining, polish, and how light hits it.
Endurashield® Quartzite Sealing is priced by the project and the square footage of stone we treat.
Polishing is included when the surface needs it — and most quartzite counters do. We don’t charge separately for prep work, because Endurashield® only bonds properly to a polished, clean surface. One service, one price.
Send us photos plus the rough square footage of your quartzite — we’ll quote you a specific number, not a range.
New install or never sealed: the full process — polish prep + Endurashield® application. This is the right starting point if the counter has never had a professional sealer or you’re sealing a brand-new quartzite install.
Periodic reseal: if Endurashield® was applied years ago and you’re at the maintenance milestone, the prep is usually lighter and the price reflects that. We’ll tell you whether you actually need a reseal yet — sometimes you don’t.
Existing stains? We’ll take a look and advise. Sometimes stain removal is possible before sealing; sometimes it isn’t. We’ll be straightforward about what’s recoverable.
