Why our quartz repair is different

Spot-refinishing quartz in the field looks tempting, but it’s risky. Engineered quartz patterns are highly uniform, and the original factory polish was created under conditions you can’t replicate on a single 4-inch patch.

We refinish the entire counter so the result is a consistent, even finish across the whole surface — close to the original factory finish, with no patched spots that catch your eye. For isolated chip damage, we use color-matched resin and blend the area with light sanding.

The specialized equipment that makes it possible

Quartz isn’t granite — it needs different tools, different abrasives, and a different sealer.

Planetary refinishing machine

Built specifically for quartz — not the same tool used on granite or marble.

Quartz-specific abrasives

Engineered to duplicate the manufacturer’s original finish as closely as possible.

Nano sealer for hard surfaces

Keeps your counter cleaner longer by preventing residue and buildup.

Every major quartz brand. Caesarstone, Silestone, Cambria, MSI Q Quartz, LG Viatera, Hanstone, Vicostone, Q Premium — the brand isn’t the issue.

Honest pricing — and a smarter way to think about it

Our quartz repair minimum is $850. We tell you upfront because below this, the math doesn’t work for either of us — quartz repair needs specialized equipment, materials, and time we keep in-house.

A better way to think about it

If you have a small chip and were hoping for a $200 fix on its own, the quartz repair alone may not pencil out. But almost no home has only quartz that needs attention. If you also have:

  • Granite counters that could use polishing
  • Marble that needs sealing or AntiEtch®
  • Travertine floors that have lost their shine
  • A shower that needs refinishing

Bundling the quartz repair into a larger project changes the math. The trip cost spreads across multiple services. The per-service value goes up.

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers to the questions we hear most.

Can quartz really be repaired? I was told it can’t be.
It’s the most common thing we hear. Many quartz repair attempts fail because they use the wrong equipment, the wrong abrasives, or try to spot-repair instead of refinishing the entire counter. With the right process — planetary refinishing machine, quartz-specific abrasives, and full-counter treatment — we restore quartz surfaces that other shops told you to replace.
Will the repair show when you’re done?
For chip repairs, we color-match the resin to your counter as closely as possible. The repair is visible under close inspection but blends well in normal use. For surface refinishing, we treat the entire counter so there are no patched spots — the result is a consistent, even finish across the whole surface, close to the original factory look.
How long does the repair take?
Most quartz repair jobs run a half-day to a full day, depending on counter size and damage scope. Chip repairs are typically faster (a few hours). Full counter refinishing usually takes a full day. We give you a specific timeline when we quote your project.
What if the damage is beyond what repair can fix?
We’ll tell you. Part of our honest assessment process is being straightforward about what we can and can’t do. If the damage is structural, the counter has underlying issues, or replacement makes more sense than repair, we’ll say so. You won’t owe us anything for an honest assessment.
Do you work with my brand of quartz?
Almost certainly yes. We’ve repaired and refinished every major quartz brand: Caesarstone, Silestone, Cambria, MSI Q Quartz, LG Viatera, Hanstone, Vicostone, Q Premium, and more. The brand affects color-matching for chip repair, but the overall refinishing technique works the same way — quartz is quartz when it comes to repair.
How much does it cost?
Our quartz repair minimum is $850. That covers the trip, specialized equipment, materials, and the time needed to do quartz work properly. For smaller jobs, ask us about bundling with other stone work in your home — if you have granite, marble, or travertine that also needs attention, we can spread the trip cost across multiple services for better per-service value.
